Notes for Battletech: 1. Look at the actual phase buttons on the screen instead of what shows up in various text boxes or hover boxes - the phase names you see there are actually for Magic, so don't be confused. 2. To deploy a card face-down, shift-drag the card from your hand to the tabletop. It appears as though Apprentice will work best for BT if one player lines up his cards on the left side of the tabletop, and the other player on the right side (as though the players are seated at the left and right sides of the Apprentice screen). If you forget what a CUC is, you can right-click on the CUC and select "Peek at a Facedown Card" to see it. 3. In most cases, you will want to "create a card" that you can put counters on next to the actual CUC. Apprentice doesn't show the number of counters on a CUC if it is face down, so this is the easiest way to show your opponent how many counters are on each of the CUC's.... Under the Action menu, select Create Card, and you will see the Create Card dialogue box. Type "Counters" for the name, leave Power/Toughness blank, and select Land as the Border (you actually can select any of the items in the dropdown, but I prefer Land for this....). 4. To add counters, right-click on the Counters card and either "Add Counter" to add one Construction Counter to the CUC, or "Set Counters" and type in the actual number of Construction Counters to add to the CUC. After a CUC has been activated, you can right-click on the Counters card and "Set Counters" to zero. 5. To scrap cards from the tabletop, simply drag them to the Scrapheap (the Graveyard, which is the middle of the three small icons above your Hand area). To scrap a card from the Stockpile, simply drag from the Stockpile (the first icon above your Hand area) to the Scrapheap. 6. To Restock a card, you simply SHIFT-DRAG the card from your hand or the tabletop and drop it on your Stockpile. You'll see a message stating that the card was moved to the BOTTOM of your library. 7. To roll a die (for a missile, Mission card, Command card, etc.), under the Action menu select "Roll a Die," and then select a 6-sided die. 8. For any of the Remove From Game cards (Tyra Miraborg, Culling, etc.), drag those cards to the Remove From Game icon (third icon above your Hand area). 9. To get a specific card from your Stockpile (for example, to find a specific Resource after scrapping War Funds): a. Under the View menu, select "My Library" b. Select the card that you want and either i. drag it to the tabletop (if it you need to show your opponent to validate what you pulled) or ii. drag it right to your hand. Make sure that the "Shuffle when done" box is checked afterward. If you shift-drag from the "Viewing My Library" it will keep the card face-down on the tabletop. Not sure why you'd want/need to, but this would be how to do it.... I'm sure there are other tips-and-tricks to be added to the above, but these are the basics... In the Deck Editor, you can select colors (from Magic) to filter the list of cards that you are looking at - they translate as follows: White = Unit - Battle Armor Blue = Command (Nonresource/Nonpilot/NonUnique/Nonterrain) Black = Unit - Vehicle Red = Mission Green = Command - Resource Gold = Command Pilots/Uniques Artifact = Unit - 'Mech Land = Command - Terrain You can also, in the Deck Editor, filter on keywords by using the Card Type box.
